Quick Navigation
The Victoria Falls Waterfront accommodations deliver an economical option with heightened African charm. The primary lodging option is found in the A-frame chalet structures that are nestled in the forested banks of the Zambezi River.
Varied chalet options include 3 Executive suites, 6 riverside chalets, 10 garden-view chalets, and 4 family chalets. Although not in the treetops, there are bridges and trails that meander through the jungle grounds to each of these chalets with their own unique view of the jungle, the river, ponds, or some combination.
Even more economical, the adventure tents provide a more rugged safari type accommodation. There are 24 adventure tents scattered across the property.
The Victoria Falls Waterfront is only 2 minutes away from the gates to the safari part of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. The morning safari only takes about 3 to 3.5 hours and allows you to see most of the park grounds.
A great day’s plan is to take the safari, come back to the chalet for lunch and a rest and then take the afternoon dinner cruise to watch the sunset. It is possible to squeeze Victoria Falls in during the afternoon but it is more relaxing if you can spread these things out.
Highlights
The chalets welcome you with rustic natural wood décor and decorative mosquito nets draped over each bed. The air conditioning is all-natural which means it is accompanied by the sounds of nature ready to serenade you to sleep.
All rooms feature a discreet butler service, WiFi service, and a separate tub and shower. Anticipated amenities like coffee and tea, television, air conditioning, telephone, and writing desk are all presented with typical Royal Livingstone flare.
The Adventure Safari Tents are small 2 person tents with twin beds, a nightstand, and power for a small lamp. It is a rustic adventure but comfortable with true beds inside the tents.
Dining
The restaurant features a small covered but open-air area with the highlight seating being on the deck which looks out directly over the Zambezi River. Along with the restaurant, the Waterfront also provides guests with the Peppino’s Pizza Oven as an option.
Amenities
The Victoria Falls Waterfront is economical and charming; however, it is important to note that amenities are more basic. The property does include an Internet Café as well as WiFi. There are two small pools that are more for relaxing and refreshing after a long day of exploring.
A sunset dinner cruise is available right from the hotel grounds. It is one of the most popular experiences for someone staying at the Waterfront with guests from other hotels often trying to book the excursion as well.
The Sunset dinner cruise takes people along the Zambezi River as it meanders through Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Participants might get to see a crocodile, elephant, buffalo, and other wildlife that comes to the riverbanks to get a drink. Hippopotamuses are also commonly seen as part of the dinner cruise experience.
